Wapping Family Hub Project

We started Sewing Project by targeting migrated Bangladeshi or other ethnic minority disadvantage women  aged  16-49  with  less  skills  and  knowledge and those who are experiencing financial exclusion as a result of poverty through low or limited income and  have  difficulties  in  accessing  financial  support. Aim is to address their economic in-activeness and help  them  get  trained  on  vocational  skills  such  as sewing and help them build up their self-esteem and confidence.

We got funding from Award For All to help support to our sewing sessions as part of Wapping Family Hub Project. Participants attending the sessions have performed well. Some of them have already learned how to cut and design the clothing with perfection and have started taking order in making dress at their spare time. Others are inspired and working hard to achieve the right skill to reach at those level. Few of them have already got part time jobs in tailors shop by improving their skills participating in the project.
